A Closer Look at the Bodega x New Balance 610 ‘The Trail Less Taken’

Bodega and New Balance are no strangers when it comes to collaborations. The two have worked together on a number of different New Balance models, such as the X-Racer, the 997, and the 990v3 to name a few.

For the next iteration between the two brands, Bodega takes to the trails and puts their spin on the New Balance 610. The New Balance 610 had previously been stowed away for 10+ years, but this year, it’s making a comeback in a huge way with collabs with Joe Freshgoods & recently announced, Amine.

Bodega chose to give a bit of a brighter look to the usually earthy tones of the trail sneaker.

From Bodega: Through a combination of retro aesthetics and the latest cutting-edge cushioning tech, whether you’re embarking on a hike, tackling that long-overdue grocery run, or conquering your wildest adventures, our 610s are crafted to keep up with your every step.

Bodega took cues from other 600-line models as well as their previous hiking New Balance collab, the X-Racer.

The sneaker features a GORP trail ‘mix’ of materials, from suede & nubuck to a rugged composite toe-cap and slotted nylon webbing. Bodega’s end goal was to mix new school and old school durability.

The colorblocking was inspired by the iridescent colors found in pigeon feathers and bug exoskeletons, as well as tones you might find when walking paths through the park or on city sidewalks. You’ll find blue, gray, black as the primary colors on the sneaker, with nostaglic hits of purple and yellow reminiscent of a 90s windbreaker.

You’ll also find a 3M logo on the lateral side with a contrasting purple medial ‘N’ rounding out the sneaker.

The Bodega x New Balance 610 ‘The Trail Less Taken’ drops tomorrow online at 12PM EST and in-store at both the Boston and LA locations. Check out the links to learn more about this sneaker:

Behind The Design

A Closer Look

I got my hands on an early pair and decided to break them in immediately on a nearby trail. I’m looking forward to rockin’ these all summer long.
