After months of anticipation and some unfortunate leaks, we finally get to see A Ma Maniére’s take on the Air Jordan 5 the way they intended it to be perceived. The AMM x AJ5 comes in “Dusk” and “Dawn” colorways and is accompanied by a “Still We Rise” short film. The film and colorway stories are rooted in the messages about identity and belonging in Black history from James Baldwin and Maya Angelou.
The Dusk” colorway uses Black and Burgundy accents, while the “Dawn” version features a Grey upper with Blue details. Both pairs use fine suede upper, A Ma Maniére badging on the tongue and outsole, and AMM monogram pattern in place of the iconic AJV cage. The liner follows past A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan releases with a jacquard monogram pattern. For the lace options, both come with cream and white lace options in addition to the tonal black and grey for each pair.
A collaborative unisex A Ma Maniére and Jordan Brand capsule apparel collection of cream, black, and navy seasonal pieces will be available alongside the AJ5s. The collection is highlighted by a co-branded Satin Bomber, a premium fine cotton Anorak and Pant set, a fleece Hoodie selection, and a set of premium cotton t-shirts to complete the collection.
The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan V “Dawn” (Grey/Blue) launch journey begins on 11.6 with a General Raffle and Local Priority Access process at all TWG doors to ensure access to local communities in A Ma Maniére, Social Status, APB and Prosper cities. The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan V “Dawn”, along with the apparel collection, officially launch on 11.17 at 11AM EST on amamaniere.com, priced at $225 in Women’s sizing ranging from W5/M3.5 – W16.5/M15, Preschool sizing priced at $100 ranging from 10.5C – 3Y, and Toddler sizing priced at $85 ranging from 2C – 10C. Apparel sizing will range from Men’s XS to 3XL with pricing varying across pieces. The “Dusk” colorway (Black/Burgundy) will release on 11.24 online at 11AM on amamaniere.com, available in Adult sizing only.
As part of the launch, A Ma Maniére will host in-store conversations in Atlanta, DC, and Houston, focused on identity, diaspora and the power collection action. Details on these upcoming gatherings will be announced, with the intent to create space for the community to share in their experiences and perspectives informed by “Still We Rise” and spark dialogue within each city on how to shape the future for the better. In addition, the Hand Wash Cold Assistance Initiative is also taking place from 11.14 to 11.21 in all A Ma Maniére spaces, allowing the community to either drop off new or lightly used clothing, specific personal supplies and non-perishable food items to support local families affected by food and housing insecurity in each city – or sign up to volunteer alongside the Hand Wash Cold team to package and deliver the donations on 11.22.
