Adidas Takes Inspiration From Water Shoes on the All-New ATRIC23

Adidas ATRIC23 Black

Adidas debuted its ATRIC line in 2018 as a celebration of performance outdoor gear’s boon in the ’90s and early ’00s. The timing couldn’t have been better with the then-nascent gorpcore trend arriving, and now the collection has a new sneaker model that nods to the era’s water shoes.

The ATRIC23 pairs a form-fitting upper with a treaded outsole fit for the trails. Although Adidas hasn’t listed any waterproof or water-dispelling properties, the sneaker does embody the look of the vintage category with an abundance of venting. Branding is kept to a minimum with the Adidas logo appearing solely at the tongue, and outdoor detailing includes rope laces and a metal ring heel pull.

Adidas will launch the ATRIC23 with two colorways, black/teal and white/cream. The former only utilizes teal for the branding, nylon eyelets, and the medial mudguard. Meanwhile, the white version is more colorful with three shades of white used across the silhouette with red and blue detailing.

Look for both versions of the Adidas ATRIC23 to release April 14 through the brand’s website for a price of $150. Download the DROPS by SoleSavy app to keep up on all the latest sneaker news.
