Bodega and Adidas have prepped a Campus and Adimatic to channel Ivy Style, and they’re doing so with one of Japan’s earliest adopters of the heritage American look.
Beams joins the three-way collaboration celebrating the heyday of collegiate style in the ’50s and ’60s. Both the Campus and Adimatic take on a timeless, clean look — albeit with the latter, a ’90s skate shoe, a little more forward thinking.
The Campus combines a shaggy suede upper in grey with cream on the lateral stripes and outsole and brown on the medial stripes and mustache. A green sock liner brings a subtle pop of color, as does gold stamping on the tongue and heel. It’s the type of sneaker that wouldn’t look out of place with a blazer and slacks — two prep staples that are also represented in the wider apparel collection.
A tad more rebellious is the Adimatic, a striking silhouette pared down slightly by cream suede and green branding. The chunky sneaker has wide stripes and laces to match, and mixing it with prep pieces would constitute a slightly bolder endeavor.
The collection, dubbed “A New Chapter in Classic Style,” is set to release through Bodega’s stores and website March 10. Other Ivy essentials including an Oxford shirt, crewneck sweater, and tie are included among the apparel, with prices ranging from $15 to $250. The Campus will fetch $130, while the Adimatic is priced at $110.
