In 2016, adidas changed the game with the player exclusive adidas Ultra Boost 1.0s for Arizona State University and the University of Miami. Limited to only student-athletes at the D1 institutions, the PEs shortly but surely become hailed as grails — and for a good reason. The Primknit uppers proudly boasting the Sun Devils’ and Hurricanes’ colorways not only showcased school spirit but captured the Three Stripes’ dominance.
While we won’t get a 1.0 retail release anytime soon, the brand is revisiting the classics with the help of its 4D technology as the adidas Ultra 4D “Arizona State” and adidas Ultra 4D “Miami Hurricanes” release this week, just in time to flex on and off campus.
Utilizing the same Primeknit upper that broke necks in 2016, the innovative 4D tech is added for a modernized upgrade.
The “Miami Hurricanes” and “Arizona State” Ultra 4Ds release will be available on September 23 exclusively via the adidas CONFIRMED app and available at select retailers globally on September 25. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
In addition to the retail release, the Sun Devils and Hurricanes will lace up this season in player exclusive Ultra Boost football cleats, which have a matching Primeknit upper to mirror the Ultra 4D running shoes.
