The Ultraboost franchise continues to grow as the Three Stripes has unveiled its newest member of the line — the adidas Ultraboost 22. The shoe, created by an all-women team, was tailor-made specifically for the female foot and delivers unmatched energy return paired with a refined design for ultimate comfort.
With insights from more than 1 million foot scans, adidas’ team identified key differences across female instep height, heel anatomy, and gait cycle to re-engineer the Ultraboost silhouette to reflect the female foot better.
The adidas Ultraboost 22 includes a new upper and LEP torsion system combined with the BOOST midsole to deliver superior energy return, 4% more than the Ultraboost 21 for women. The shoe includes an evolved Linear Energy Push (LEP) torsion system, which harmonizes with the BOOST midsole and an all-new outsole design, resulting in a more responsive stride.
The adidas Ultraboost 22’s refined PRIMEKNIT+ upper is made with yarn containing 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, providing a more supportive and adaptive fit. Finally, the fit is based on a new last build on female anatomical insights. It is designed to work in harmony with the heel counter to let the Achilles tendon move more freely with a narrower heel, a lower instep, and its unique S-curve heel.
adidas Running will also be creating a HI ENERGY playlist on Spotify (dropping December 11) and launching a month-long “Countdown to 22” challenge in the adidas Running app (sign-ups open December 2; tracking Dec 10-31).
The adidas Ultraboost 22 launches with the mauve colorway on December 2 in the Creators Club app, ahead of its wider release on December 9 in the adidas app, online, and in-store.
