After months of mockups and teases, adidas has finally revealed official images of Sean Wotherspoon’s upcoming Superstar collaboration. Dubbed the “Super Earth”, Wotherspoon’s first collaboration with adidas sees the Round Two founder apply his love of unique materials, rainbow color schemes, and environmentalism to the legacy silhouette.
The shoe’s most striking feature though is its embroidery and the tassels which hang off the medial and lateral sides of the shoe. Images of the sunflowers and stylized version of the adidas Trefoil insignia are embroidered in multiple colors and sewn with an excess string hanging off the animated images. The shoe’s upper is a white, vegan leather with baby blue accents on the lacestays with a textured and perforated tongue that features Wotherspoon’s signature across a “Super Earth” logo. A natural cork insole further adds to the shoe’s comfort and efforts at a low carbon footprint. The adidas x Sean Wotherspoon “Super Earth” will drop this August 29th.
