Aimé Leon Dore presents their Fall / Winter 2020 collection in their “The World’s Borough” video campaign and lookbook. The Queens-based label brings together elements of suiting, workwear, and athletic wear in the brand’s most extensive collection yet.
The campaign casts a wide range of New Yorkers. From big names such as Jadakiss, Smoke DZA and Nigel Sylvester, to deeper cuts like A$AP Eva of Popular Jewelry, artist Tyrell Winston, and Throwing Fits co-host Lawrence Schlossman. ALD founder Teddy Santis taps into the city’s culture by lifting up those who are shaping it.
Featuring luxurious knits, cozy fleeces, and elegant yet approachable tailoring, this collection continues to build on what Aimé Leon Dore has been excelling at throughout the years. Our favourite pieces include the cable knit cardigans (likely a continuation of their Woolrich collaboration), double knee work pants, patchwork coat & pants, and their herringbone suit.
Perhaps better than the pieces themselves is the sensational styling in this campaign. Santis has shown the ability to combine different elements so seamlessly to convey simple yet sophisticated looks. Effortlessly pairing sweatpants with loafers, as well as finding the right sneakers to wear with suit pants, Aimé separates itself from the rest by showing an elevated way of wearing familiar pieces.
