New Balance’s tight relationship with Aimé Leon Dore will soon expand with the introduction of a new silhouette. Leaks suggest the 1906R will be the next model to get the ALD treatment, and even though all know more or less what to expect when they link up, this may just be their most “dad” dad shoe yet.
A very green treatment defines the silhouette, as dark and light shades appear across the mesh sneaker with rubber and plastic caging. A special rose mark appears on the tongue where you’d normally find New Balance’s logo, but apart from that the silhouette doesn’t undergo any major changes. Those familiar with the silhouette, which first launched in 2009, will recognize the “N” logo made up of laces for the vertical lines and the 860V2 sole unit added to create the 1906R in 2022.
