Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis has just revealed his brand’s next collaboration with New Balance. The New York-based label will be taking its singular brand of luxury streetwear styling and applying it to a duo of New Balance 1300 sneakers in contrasting colorways.
The ALD x New Balance 1300 will maintain the silhouette of the classic runner but elevates its look through some coloring alterations and premium materials. The shoes’ uppers are constructed primarily from a shaggy suede which makes up all the overlays while a breathable, tonal mesh paneling is used for the toebox and the sides of the ankle. A Sail colored tongue and matching ENCAP foam midsole add a touch of vintage flair to ALD’s take on the legacy runner. Both pairs come with stark white laces that pop in contrast to the dyed suede uppers. The green pair features a light grey “N” logo with a white outline on both the medial and lateral sides of the shoe while the Salmon pair opts for a dark navy blue in lieu of grey. Both pairs arrive with co-branded ALD x New Balance tongue tags.
