The idea of mixing together parts from other popular colorways into a new creation is nothing new, but it usually results in something very far out like the “What The.” series or the fan-favorite Union Jordan 1s. Now in 2020, Jordan Brand is working within that same design language once again but applying it in a far more understated manner.
The Air Jordan 1 High ‘Smoke Grey’ is a multi-colored and multi-material construction take on the OG Jordan kicks. The leather collar flap is that iconic shade of Varsity Red with a black, stamped, Jordan Wings logo found on the AJ1 ‘Bred‘, ‘Black Toe‘, and ‘Chicago‘. The ankle and Swooshes are done in a fine, black suede while the heel, mudguard, and lace stays are done in that titular shade of ‘Smoke Grey’ suede. The toebox and both medial and lateral paneling are done in white, pebbled leather.
