The Air Jordan 1 High OG Gets Another “UNC” Makeover

Michael Jordan left the University of North Carolina in 1984, but the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG returns in the university’s colors again this summer. The latest remix arrives in “Bred Toe” color blocking, unlike the 2021 release, which featured a nubuck upper.

Jordan Brand has released several models in North Carolina colors in recent years, including the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, Air Jordan 5, and Air Jordan 6, to name a few. While it’s not a true University Blue colorway, we’re also expecting a “UNC to Chicago” Air Jordan 1 Low OG to release this July. The “UNC to Chicago” color scheme debuted on the women’s exclusive in early 2020.

This upcoming silhouette has a white leather base with a black collar lining and eyestay accented by Tar Heel blue on the toebox, collar, foxing, and outsole. The tongue is dressed in black and features a black and blue tongue tag. As expected from the Air Jordan 1, the model will come with two sets of laces – a black pair and a UNC blue pair.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “University Blue” is currently slated to release on July 8th via the Nike SNKRS app at 10 a.m. ET and through Jordan Brand retailers for $180.
