Vice President and Founding Father of the Jordan Brand Howard White will be honored for his contributions to the company with an upcoming Air Jordan 2. Mr. White joined Nike in 1978 as a field representative and would play a pivotal role in signing Michael Jordan in 1984. Chris Tucker starred as Howard White in the film Air, which depicted how Nike, the lesser-known sportswear company from Beaverton, Oregon, lured MJ away from Converse and adidas. The hightop silhouette comes with OG 1997 specs and features a white leather upper with side panels that include hand-sketched feathers designed by Jordan Brand Special Projects Footwear Designer Israel Mateo. The letter “H” is printed on the insole and sits inside the milky, semi-translucent heel, which is placed under the green heel tab. The colorway takes inspiration from Kecoughtan High School, where H started his basketball career. It comes with a black pair of shoelaces and another set that reads “Power” and “Belief.”
The Air Jordan 2 “Wings” releases June 10th, 2023, for $210 on the Nike SNKRS app.
