Air Jordan 6 “Carmine” Recall

Per Complex, Jordan Brand has issued a statement regarding the pink sole AJ6 floating online. The photo below seems like a worst case scenario so I don’t expect many pairs to be like this.

“A small amount of the Air Jordan 6 Carmine product did not meet our standards for consumers. Jordan Brand is working quickly with our retail partners to rectify this.”

Jordan has asked stores to return the defective pairs which will likely cause some weird sizing inventory but it overall shouldn’t change stock very much from my understanding.
StockX/Resell Pairs
One thing to note is Stockx, I can’t find this disclaimer on their site right now which means they took it down BUT I don’t trust them.

Disclaimer: Pairs of the Jordan 6 Carmine (2021) may feature color migration on the midsole due to dye transferring from the upper”

There is a lot of these pairs out there, maybe close to 1 million so everyone should hit if you pre-cart properly. Hopefully it doesn’t have to come down to resell but if it does, I would stick to GOAT because their level of vetting on shoes is strict.
If you have a pink pair:
If you order a pair from a licensed Nike dealer and you get a pair with pink, you should reach out for a return/refund but I would hope every store does the right thing and vets every pair this week. For example ShoePalace has not loaded stock yet and they usually do at this point so I’m sure they are doing an audit.
On a related note….
Another cause for release delays is a new Nike/Jordan “Quality Control” check now happening at a secondary point. Our sources say the brand is doing a secondary check closer to distribution to ensure no faulty pairs get through. With the delays and extra time in the warehouse, some shoes may be sitting longer than usual. If you think back to the Fire Red 4s, there was definitely some spotty releases that made it out. This seems to be an effort to stop this from happening again so that there is no news cycle of B grade 6s online.
