First debuting at Paris Fashion Week, Aries’ XT-Whisper collaboration is finally here.
The Salomon XT-Whisper x Aries dives into 80s and 90s running culture with a subversive, technological twist for a collaboration brimming with nostalgia and innovation.
We were first graced with a preview of this collaboration during Paris Fashion Week in late June. The collaboration, which comes in two colorways, is a celebration of Aries’ love of bold art. The lookbook itself speaks to Aries’ ability to capture urgency, vibrance, and rebellion.
The collaboration coming on the Salomon XT-Whisper should be no surprise. Since its reintroduction late last year, the model has gained popularity, and it has introduced several collaborations into the fold.
Aries, which aims to be a non-gendered brand, feels like the perfect partner for this sneaker. Not only because of the way the brand made the sneaker their own, but because it took into account the history of the XT-Whisper.
Born as a women’s trail racing shoe in 2009, the XT-Whisper was reintroduced late last year in unisex sizing. Allowing the sneaker to cross over from niche trail shoe into a streetwear essential. From its origins as a women’s trail runner to becoming the face of some of Salomon’s biggest collaborations in 2025, the XT-Whisper has truly gone the distance. This collaboration truly feels like the sneakers’ crowning moment.
For their collaboration, Aries combines vintage-look leather and suede with technical materials, gradients, and metallic foiling for a bold edition of a legendary trail shoe that feels familiar yet fearlessly unique. Strong in Salomon’s DNA, Aries’ XT-Whisper is provocatively textured and rich in layered call-outs and product finish.
