My, oh my, Pokémon TCG is not planning on slowing down.
As Pokémon Company continues to reel off the success of Legend’s Z-A and the recently released Phantasmal Flames, we are learning more and more about Pokémon TCG’s next specialty set.
Pokémon TCG’s last specialty release was the notorious Prismatic Evolutions in January of 2025. All signs seem to point to ‘Ascended Heroes” launching a year later.
‘Ascended Heroes’ appears poised to live up to the hype of its predecessor. A few weeks back, a Mega Gengar was revealed for the set. Gengar, one of the most popular Pokémon in the TCG and the Anime, isn’t coming alone, though.
Mega Dream, the Japanese Pokémon TCG set that will be translated into ‘Ascended Heroes,” is expected to release on November 28th. That said, we have already seen a peek into the Pokémon that will make up part of the set.
Headlined by a Mega Dragonite SIR, Mega Dream also appears to feature Mewtwo, Pikachu, Ho-oh, and a few Mega Evolutions- like Hawlucha, Lucario, and Eelektross.
Of course, the packaging that has been revealed does not give us a full look at the entire set, but simply the Pokémon that will headline the collection.
Just today, fan favorite Psyduck was revealed as an illustration rare for Mega Dream. Which, naturally, means the card will release in the ‘Ascended Heroes” set in English, come the last days of January.
Where the set gets a little more interesting, though, is that it is expected to also highlight Pokémon trainers. Much like ‘Journey Together’, the set will include popular trainers and their beloved Pokémon. More specifically, the set will feature N’s Zecrom and Marni’s Grimmsnarl with special full art cards.
Considering ‘Ascended Heroes” is a specialty set, more cards are expected to be featured in this massive set. A few Gold-Holo cards have leaked, though they have not been confirmed by the Pokémon Company or reliable leakers. Expect more reveals to trickle in as the Japanese release of Mega Dream approaches quickly.
“Ascended Heroes” will officially release on January 30th in North America. According to PokeBeach, the product lineup will include an Elite Trainer Box, a Premium Poster Collection, Tech Sticker Collections, Trainer’s Blisters, and a Special Collection.
You can pre-order Mega Dream now via the SoleSavy Store.
