CLOT and Nike are bringing back their three-in-one Cortez to celebrate one of the most iconic martial artists of all-time.
The “CLOTEZ” will drop soon in a black and yellow colorway inspired by Bruce Lee’s famous jumpsuit from the movie ‘Game of Death.’ Just like their first version of the sneaker, the color scheme is split evenly between the two components, making for an inverted, Yin and Yang-like effect when worn as laced sneaker. Both are intended for wear indoors, but the the black exterior slip-on with a cut-off yellow Swoosh is inspired by Kung Fu shoes and features drawstrings on the heel. It also has a serrated outsole for better grip, whereas the yellow inner shoe with Black Swoosh lays flat for more casual wear.
Upcoming designer Harry Wong worked with CLOT founder designer Edison Chen to create the hybrid take on the Cortez. The two first met in 2018 when Chen judged the Nike: On Air contest in which Wong competed. The shoe draws on the two principles of martial arts, fluidity and change. While the first “CLOTEZ” featured the Chinese characters for Kung Fu, “功 夫,” the new makeup reads, “潮 幫” as a nod to CLOT’s Trendy Gang NFT collection.
The Bruce Lee “CLOTEZ” is slated to release March 10, exactly a month after the debut of the silhouette. Retail is set at $140, and Juice Store will stock the kicks internationally through its website and physical stores. Download the DROPS by SoleSavy app to follow updates on this release and more.
