Edison Chen’s CLOT brand has been nurturing the voices in China and in staying true to that ethos, has joined forces with burgeoning designer Harry Wong to drop the CLOT x Nike “CLOTEZ,” a 3-in-1 sneaker inspired by yin-yang philosophy.
Edison Chen and Harry Wong first met back in 2018 when Chen was a judge for the Nike: On Air contest, where Wong was among the contestants. The upcoming “CLOTEZ” draws inspiration from Wong’s Air Max design entitled “Kung Fu Soul,” which focused on the principles of Tai Chi and the fluidity and change of the ancient martial art.
The CLOT x Nike “CLOTEZ” debuts in a black and white colorway inspired by the Tai Chi Diagram, also known as the yin-yang symbol. With its modular design, the CLOTEZ can be fashioned in a multitude of ways and can be converted into two separate shoes, a sneaker, and a slip-on. The sneaker is meant to be worn as an indoor house shoe and includes a black Swoosh on a white leather upper, while the matte black slip-on adds more to Kung Fu-inspired look and includes serrated bottoms on the outsole. The look is completed by drawstring fastening featuring a Yin Yang symbol and Chinese characters “功” and “夫” (Kung Fu)embroidered at the heel. Special packaging with a yin-yang style box with Tai Chi instructions printed on the side adds to the special release.
The CLOT x Nike “CLOTEZ” is set to release on February 10 via juicestoreusa and Juice Store locations. The retail price is set at $140.
