Early Look: adidas FUTURECRAFT.STRUNG Is The 3D Printed Sneaker Of The Future

While the shoe will not release to the general public until late 2021 or early 2022, adidas has already begun the prototype manufacturing process on its most technologically advanced piece of footwear yet. Designed by adidas’ FUTURECRAFT subline, the FUTURECRAFT.STRUNG silhouette advances upon the blueprint of the Three Stripes’ mint green 4D midsoles to create a sturdier, more comfortable cushioning system. The lattice patterning of the 3D printing process has resulted in a sleeker-looking midsole with a significantly shorter heel portion, applying focus to the wearer’s forefoot.

The “.STRUNG” portion of the model name refers to the adidas STRUNG machine. STRUNG is able to transfer performance data from athlete runners to perfectly mold the textile upper to the individual’s foot. The greatest innovation that the 3D printing process allows is the ability to weave Dropping late 202the thread in any direction, rather than the vertical and horizontal limitations of traditional construction methods.

Take a look at the adidas FUTURECRAFT.STRUNG prototype and manufacturing process below. Stay tuned to SoleSavy for further adidas FUTURECRAFT news.
