Nike SB has really ramped up the creativity on their recent drops, getting inspiration from all sorts of places. Likely releasing on the 4th of April, the Nike SB Dunk High ‘Strawberry Cough’ is a marijuana inspired skate shoe that shows just how clever the design team can be.
Named after a popular strain of weed, the Swoosh, side paneling, and heel portion of the ‘Strawberry Cough’ are made up of an extra hairy, light green suede which evokes both the color and texture of dried cannabis flowers and strawberry stems. The posterior portion of the anklet, in contrast, comes in a fine dark green suede. The red leather upper on the toe box and remaining paneling are done in a deep red with light red accents speckled across, replicating the look of a strawberry with seeds.
Furthermore, there are double lace-wings added to each sneaker leaving room for custom lace jobs or a nice bit of flair if left untouched. A cartoon coughing strawberry mascot is embroidered on the heel cup as well as illustrated on the insoles. To top it off, all these chilled out details are sitting atop a transparent blue Dunk sole.
