Early Look: UNION LA x Air Jordan 4 “Guava Ice”

Following the leaked images of the UNION LA x Air Jordan 4 “Off Noir” colorway, new images have arrived of its brighter counterpart, the “Guava Ice” colorway. Guava Ice is a shade seldom used by Jordan Brand, its most recent success being a pair of AJ 1 Highs from 2018.

Unlike its “Off Noir” predecessor, this shoe is replete with pastel tones and bright primary colors throughout. The titular shade of “Guava Ice” pink is used as the shoe’s base, its pastel suede appearing on all overlays except the ankle. White, perforated mesh appears on the toebox while bright red is applied to the mesh ankle collar and aged-looking yellow is used for the AJ4’s iconic caging. More hits of primary Red and Blue appear on the lacestays as well as the “Nike Air” heel tab and blue sockliner. In classic UNION fashion, the tongue has a deconstructed look to it thanks to the unique decision to flip it around, cut the top portion off, bend it, and sew it back to the tongue using bright orange stitching. This results in the interior “Air Jordan” branded tongue tag now showing up front and center as a final finishing touch on the already visually stimulating shoe. An aged Sail midsole is added as an extra touch of vintage flair that UNION’s previous Jordan collaboration was so celebrated for.
