After the introduction of eBay’s Authencity Guarantee sneaker reselling service in the US last October, the platform is heading up north to Canada. Competing with the likes of GOAT and StockX, eBay’s Authencity Guarantee has sellers send their shoes to an eBay facility where the shoes are vetted for quality and authenticity in an attempt to decrease the prevalence of fakes on the market. Authentication services are provided in conjunction with Sneaker Con and apply only to shoes sold for over $100 USD. The first Canadian authentication location will open in Toronto later this May.
