Fear of God decamped from Nike to Adidas at the tail end of 2020, and more than two years later that partnership is finally beginning to come to life.
Samples for a Fear of God x Adidas sneaker have surfaced and reveal a minimalist high-top in black and off-white. A big toe box with three stripes matches the one-piece midsole, while the black nylon upper comes with a strap at mid-foot. A sample for white slides with the same branding raised above the strap has also leaked, but Fear of God founder Jerry Lorenzo himself has stressed that, at the very least, the high-top is not what’s coming to market.
Lorenzo told Complex, “This is not the basketball sneaker from Fear of God and Adidas,” while adding that both performance sneakers and a ready-to-wear collection will be revealed April 19 during the shoe for Fear of God’s eighth collection.
This series of leaks has surely hampered FoG and Adidas’ plans for rollout, but at least we now know news is coming soon. Some may be relieved that the high-top pictured here won’t actually release, even though it does look more wearable than the Nike Fear of God 1 from 2019.
