Venus Williams is Lacosteâ€s New Global Ambassador

Champion tennis star Venus Williams is appointed as Lacosteâ€s Global Ambassador. Lacoste is growing the label as it introduces its refreshed silhouettes and design pieces based upon the different lifestyles of women.

Lacoste is honoring their new fashion-sport silhouette design by releasing a number of items, including dresses, bras, and trench coats made of technical materials. These pieces feature bold colors, with hints of whites, creams, and pastel pinks.

Venus Williams shared some words on her new title, “I am a long-time fan of Lacoste and have always been inspired by the brandâ€s innovative style, beyond its tennis roots. Louise Trotter is such a visionary, and the work she has done as creative director of the House is forward-thinking, inspired, and constantly evolving.” 

Lacosteâ€s new fashion-sport silhouette collection is now available on Lacosteâ€s website.

OFF-WHITE pays tribute to Virgil Abloh and showcases its Fall 2022 Collection at Paris Fashion Week 

This past Monday at Paris Fashion Week, OFF-WHITE paid tribute to late designer and founder Virgil Abloh while introducing its Fall 2022 Collection.

Models, including Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Bella Hadid, walked the show, and (of course) many stars were sitting front row, such as Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams.

The collection featured oversized baker boy hats and knitwear diamond-shaped cut-outs. There were hints of lilac and bold yellows on some of the pieces, like the mini dress and skirts. The collection also debuted with tye-dye puffers. The show program revealed that the pieces were “designed by Virgil and completed by the creative teams and collaborators with whom he worked.”

A handful of models were seen with a white flag that read “Question Everything.” Cindy Crawford was also seen modeling two distinct handbags, touching on Ablohâ€s health troubles. One of the handbags included the “MORE LIFE,” and the other was covered in red and white capsules.

Former Nike Director Starts Women-Owned Sneaker Brand, Lilith NYC

Sarah Sukumaran is the founder of the Queens-based sneaker brand Lilith NYC. She is a sneakerhead herself and shared some thoughts on how sneakers and sneaker culture are mainly shaped and catered to and around men. Sukumaran mentioned, “If you look at the history of most athletic brands, theyâ€re rooted in male sports, male athletes. All the footwear silhouettes are built for them.” 

Sukumaran started Lilith NYC to create a sneaker brand for women and designs catered solely to them. The name of the brand was picked out by the founder as it echos the values. The meaning derives from Jewish and Mesopotamian folklore, and Lilith is Adamâ€s first wife, who was demonized throughout history. Sukumaran chose this name as she is creating a brand for those who are ignored in sneaker and streetwear culture.

Lilith NYCâ€s latest collection features the Caudal Lure, a low-top silhouette design inspired by where Sukumaran grew up in Queens. Similar to the design and functionality of the shoe paying homage to Queens, so do the colorways. The Concrete Jungle colorway consists of green tones, and the Amberlou Brick in burnt orange. 

We Get First Looks at the Womenâ€s-Exclusive Air Max 1 PRM XXXV

Commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Nike Air Max 1 this month, we get a glance at the womenâ€s-exclusive Air Max PRM XXXV. The unique design of the shoes features subtle suede and contrast stitching. 

The shoeâ€s panels are dressed in sage, magenta, gold, and a number of green shades. The overall look is completed with gray leather midfoot overlays and denim uppers. The details are endless, as Swoosh includes overclocked stitching; the midsole features graphic gold cracks.

Kentucky Track and Field Senior Abby Steiner breaks American Womenâ€s indoor 200m Record with 22.09

Abby Steiner, the Kentucky Track and Field senior, broke an astonishing record last week. She broke the American indoor 200-meter record with 22.09 on her way to ​​her 3rd Southeastern Conference gold.

Kentuckyâ€s Head Coach, Lonnie Greene shared her excitement on the record-breaking win, “Iâ€m just happy with the way Kentucky is performing. We are setting this thing up to make a good push, a good run to represent Big Blue Nation in a huge way at the national championship.”

The meet consisted of nine ranked womenâ€s teams, and Kentucky womenâ€s Track and Field was ranked at number 5. The womenâ€s team finished third with 79 points, marked as the best finish in program history. 

Scoring 10 points for winning the 200m, she ran 7.19 in the final 65 minutes before breaking 22 seconds in an indoor 200m. Steinerâ€s groundbreaking time made her the 2nd fastest in the indoor 200m. 

The WNBA Fined the New York Liberty Team $500k for Chartering Flights Last Season

The WNBA fined the New York Liberty team a league record of $500,000 for taking chartered flights for road games during the second half of the season. Chartering flights are not permitted in the WNBA league, since they can build a competitive edge for teams who have owners that can afford this form of travel.

The New York Liberty team owners Joe Tsai and his wife Clara purchased the flights for the team. According to Sports Illustrated, the WNBAâ€s general counsel proposed a number of sanctions, including “losing every draft pick you have ever seen” and even termination of the franchise.

Over recent years, players have shed light on the conditions, including uncomfortable and confined seating on flights. And in some cases games were canceled due to travel confusion. 

The WNBA Players Association took to Twitter to share its thoughts on the fine: “Fining the teams for standing up for equity, standing up for the players, harkens back to a league that fined the players for standing up for social justice.”

DC Comics Teams up with Emilie Heathe, for ‘The Batman†Inspired Nail Polishes

DC Comics and Warner Bros. are collaborating with beauty brand, Emilie Heathe for “The Batman” inspired nail polishes. Named “The Batman Trilogy,” the nail polishes come in three limited-edition colors: “Vengeance,” a red-toned shimmery color; “Madness,” a duo-chrome colorway that changes from green to purple; and “The Dark Knight,” a deep blue polish. All colorways are inspired by lead characters from the movie. 

Emilie Heathe is known for its high-quality ingredients – all polishes are made from plant-based ingredients, such as bamboo extract and sea buckthorn oil, which promote nail growth and strength. 

The founder of Emilie Heathe, Emily Rudman, shared, “‘The Batman Trilogy Collection†is one of the most important collaborations that we have done to date, I grew up reading and drawing comic books, and that love eventually morphed into a passion for beauty artistry and ‘painting†faces.” 

 “The Batman Trilogy” collection and the “Knight Out” nail accessory kit, which features a nail decal set, are now available on the Emilie Heathe website.
