The latest in Nike SB’s ongoing collaborative works is coming later this month in the form of a Dunk Low collaboration with Japanese skatewear brand Instant Skateboards. Previously teased through leaked images, the colorful collab is set to release September 19th, 2020 in celebration of Instant’s 25th anniversary.
The Instant Skateboards x Nike SB Dunk Low features a combination of suede and leather paneling throughout its upper while maintaining the DNA of our typical SB Dunk Lows. A notable addition to the shoe is the unique toebox done in silver 3M leather with a mini Swoosh in baby blue embroidered at the very tip of the panel. The tongue tag is also not the traditional Nike SB tag, instead, it features a tri-toned, co-branded Instant / Nike tag. Insoles feature a graphic of Tokyo streets and Nike SB / Instant Skateboards’ logos. Elsewhere, baby blue suede covers the side panels, heel, collar, and just the top 3/4 of the lace stays. The bottom quarter of the lacestays are instead outfitted with beige suede, matching with the mudguard. The shoes also feature a sail midsole instead of the traditional white which compliments the beige suede nicely. Instant Skateboards’ dog insignia is embroidered on to the lateral portion of the heel as a final reminder of where this shoe comes from.
