Year of the Tiger Inspires Jordan Brand Chinese New Year Collection

Jordan Brand continues its annual tradition of celebrating the Chinese New Year with a series of silhouettes that match the corresponding year. As the year of the tiger dawns on us, Jordan Brand has officially unveiled its CNY collection.

The collection features an AJ1 Low OG, an Air Jordan 6 Low, and the Jordan Legacy 312. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG earns its stripes as the tiger-inspired colorway is detailed with calligraphy-style tiger print. The low-top also includes black satin lining, a tiger head logo on the heels, and a yellowed translucent outsole showcasing the Jordan Wings logo. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG will release in limited quantities, with each of the 5,000 pairs being numbered.

The Air Jordan 6 Low and the Jordan Legacy 312 draw inspiration from Ge Kiln porcelain, one of the Five Great Kilns of Chinese ceramics produced during the Song dynasty. The Ge porcelain cracked pattern inspires the texture used on the Air Jordan 6 Low’s toe box.

In addition to the footwear, Jordan Brand will be releasing an apparel collection to match the footwear, including tees, sweaters, and more featuring a special Jumpman logo surrounded by cloud and bird graphics. A reversible black and orange bomber jacket with a Chinese-style buckle design is included in the collection.

The Jordan Brand CNY “Year of the Tiger” collection will release in the Greater China area starting on December 30. The pairs will see a global release in February 2022 on SNKRS and select retailers. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
