Kobe 6 Grinch Release Update

I want to touch on the Kobe 6 Grinch now that Nike has officially announced it. I think one thing that a lot of people forget is that all sneakers are planned 2-3 years in advanced and then put into product a solid 9-12 months in advance.
The point I am making here is, when Nike decided “okay, let’s bring back the Grinch 6s Dec. 24 2020” it happened in 2019. By the time Kobe passed away (RIP) they had likely okayed product, bought materials, timelines etc. It was too late to change anything.

I fully believe it was Nike’s intent to keep this shoe special and limited to a degree, because this will now set off the other Kobe 6 Protro colorways to come. The problem is, that previous planned ratio of stock to demand got thrown out the fuckin window when he passed. Now the demand is way out of wack and the shoe went from limited on purpose to oh shit we definitely have no where near what we need.

Obviously Nike couldn’t have predicted any of this and couldn’t do anything about it.

I spoke with 3 stores that will have this shoe coming and all 3 came back with the “we have barely any”. I expect most stores to get 18-24 units and raffle. Some bigger accounts like ShoePalace will get a couple hundred but overall I expect this to be hell on Dec. 24 for online FCFS drops. Be warned, it will be an Off-White type drop with worse stock.

SNKRS will have all the stock here. It’s good to see the early access today and see a decent number of wins in advance, hopefully Nike has a lot more for them selves than I expected but it’s never ideal for us to be left at the mercy of the SNKRS algorithm.

That’s my two cents, hopefully it helps as I know a lot of you want this.
