Love it or hate it, Virgil Abloh and his work continue to stay at the top of headlines in the world of fashion and sneakers. The OFF-WHITE founder and Louis Vuitton’s director of its menswear category showcased a handful of fits that caught the attention of everyone as a multitude of Louis Vuttion x Nike Air Force 1s in both mid and low forum took center stage in Paris.
The footwear collection has obvious ties to bootleg culture that is still prevalent today but also serves as a nod to the bespoke world that has seen LVx Nike-inspired work in the past. Now, Virgil brings the Parisian fashion house and the global sportswear brand together as 21 colorways were previewed, according to WWD.
In addition to the LV logos making their way onto premium leathers in an embossed fashion, stitching, perforated tongues, and parts of the shoe in quotes such as “AIR” and “SHOELACES” bring together signature elements from Abloh’s work with the OFF-WHITE x Nike partnership. Although, there’s no clear indication as to whether or not OFF-WHITE is an official collaborator on the footwear. When asked if the collection was coming soon, Virgil told WWD to, “stay tuned.”
