This year, the renowned fashion house and the historic footwear brand are kicking things up a notch (or down) with a new take on the Classic Leather Tabi. The upcoming Maison Margiela x Reebok collection is centered around the all-new Classic Leather Tabi Décortiqué Low.
The inspiration of the silhouette draws from Maison Margiela’s technique of décortiqué, developed by creative director John Galliano. Maison Margiela coined the term to describe the deconstruction of a garment or accessory to its core structure, removing the architectural framework of an object to reveal its underlying construction.
The Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi Décortiqué Low collection follows its predecessors with a monochromatic look as white, black, and red appear on the model. Maison Margiela’s signature bianchetto treatment also reemerges for the collaborative capsule.
