Innovative footwear company MSCHF is back with another eye-catching release, the Big Red Boot. The brand has been known to lean into a warped reality with wavy skate shoes and candy-inspired kicks, but even those were inspired by the real world. For this release, MSCHF is headed to the silver screen. A cartoon boot for a 3D world, the boot draws inspiration from Osamu Tezuka’s famed multimedia series Astro Boy which first debuted in 1952. Astro Boy is a young android boy with laser fingers and jet-powered flight propelled by boosters in his feet.
The MSCHF Big Red Boot may not offer the ability to fly, but it does faithfully recreate the iconic boot with its red TPU rubber shell and EVA foam rubber sole, complete with MSCHF branding underfoot. The MSCHF Big Red Boot is to release on February 16th at 11 AM EST exclusively on the MSCHF Sneakers app and MSCHF.com. The shoe will retail for $350.
