In 2010, New Balance debuted the 1906 silhouette, but in 2022, the Boston-based footwear company orchestrated a sole swap, adding an “R” in the process. The New Balance 1906R and 2002R replaced its original full-length gel outsole for a heel-focused cushion setup. Its upcoming triple white and black colorways feature torn leather panels on top of its mesh base. The deconstructed “Protection Pack” has become one of the brand’s most popular collections to date with its unfinished and worn look.
