The Air Jordan 1 “Bred” Gets The ’85 Treatment

Next year, Nike will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1 and will kick things off with the highly anticipated “Bred” colorway in the premium ‘85 cut. The ’85 version of Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker was introduced in 2020 and represents the highest quality in the franchise. The Jordan design team has attempted to match every detail of the OG, from the materials to the construction. The 85′ line has produced OG colorways like the White/Black, “Neutral Grey,” and “Metallic Burgandy,” but favorites like the “Chicago,” “Royal,” and “Bred” have yet to get the treatment. It’s fitting that the Jumpman will lead with the infamous “Banned” colorway to honor the sneaker’s legacy across four decades.

Rumors of the release have been circulating for months, and thanks to Brandon1an, we now have a first look. The leaked images are consistent with past ’85 AJ1 drops, including a reworked toebox, increased height, and noticeably different leather. Rumors have these releasing during NBA All-Star Week in February but an exact date has not been revealed.
