With Latino Heritage Month approaching, Jordan Brand is showing love to its Mexican audience with the “El Grito” Air Jordan 5. The design uses an off-white leather upper with hits of red and green for an unmistakable nod to the Mexican flag. Mexican-inspired symbolism shows up on the heel and toe box and “Viva” lace deubres finish off the look. “El Grito” translates to “the cry” and refers to the country’s call to arms against the Spanish. The tradition is celebrating every September 15, the day before Mexican Independence Day. The Air Jordan 5 “El Grito” releases on September 12 for $210.
