To celebrate 4.04 Day, Nike tapped four Atlanta boutiques to design an Air Max 95 inspired by the city. Walter’s, Wish ATL, SolePlay, and A Ma Maniére focused on a central theme of the Phoenix rising from the ashes to symbolize the city’s rise after the 1864 burning. The colorway comes to life using University Red, Picante, Safety Orange and Bright Mandarin along with layers of leather, synthetic leather, textiles and reflective material. Scorching graphics are printed on the insole to tie the theme together.
KO from ATATF traveled to all four boutiques to learn more about the design and inspiration on the latest episode of The Drop Off. The Air Max 97 Atlanta releases on April 4 at 10 AM EST for $185.
