2001’s JP.CO Nike Dunk Low “Plum” returned for the first time in 2020 during one of the silhouettes and industry’s most hyped eras. Laying the foundation for the Panda craze, retro colorways like the “Plum” colorway helped put Dunks back at the top of sneakerhead’s wishlists. Like many hyped releases during that time, aftermarket pricing put many pairs out of reach as professional, aspiring, and casual resellers recognized that Dunks equaled dollar signs. Since then, the sneaker aftermarket has started to correct itself, and Nike has done its part to make sure two decades don’t pass before another retro. Like other popular 2020 Dunk releases such as the “Kentucky” and “Syracuse,” the Plum is back, so those who missed out in 2020 don’t have to pay 5x the price to get their hands on the early 2000s favorite.
The Plum Dunk Low was originally part of the “Ugly Ducklings” pack and features premium suede, shades of purple, and Barn Red accents. The style number remails the same as the 2020 release so buyers can expect the same quality and packaging. The Nike Dunk Low Plum releases on March 21, at 10 AM EST, on the Nike SNKRS app.
