In 1991, Nike unveiled the Air Huarache. Designed by the one and only Tinker Hatfield, the Huarache ushered in a new level of comfort and support with its neoprene bootie construction along with its rubber heel cage. More than three decades after its original release, the Swoosh is celebrating the model with the return of an OG colorway.
Released in 1991 and retroed in 2018, the classic “Purple Punch” colorway is returning. The upcoming Nike Air Huarache OG “Purple Punch” stays true to the original with its white neoprene panel on the toebox, white leather overlays, black neoprene tongue & lace structure, and the signature purple neoprene on the heel of the pair. The black and purple heel cage, purple insoles and collar, and black outsole bring it all together. However, the pair includes the Huarache logo on the tongue instead of the Nike Air label from the 1991 version.
The Nike Air Huarache OG “Purple Punch” releases on February 9 for $120 on SNKRS and select retailers. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
