Nike Gives the Air Max 1 ’87 All the Materials and Color

Nike Air Max 1 87 Floral Corduroy

Nike’s annual celebration of the Air Max line is just weeks away, and the festivities look to include a bounty of materials and color on a pair of Air Max 1 ’87s.

A women’s exclusive version of the 35-year-old sneaker sees an array of materials that harken back to the Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 1/97. Baby blue corduroy is used for the mudguard, while a fainter blue floral pattern is embroidered onto the toe box. Seafoam green, pink, yellow, and cream all appear in suede throughout the upper, while a shaggier suede in black constitutes the Swoosh. The leopard print collar also makes use of the shaggier suede, and on the interior you’ll find neon yellow zebra stripes for the insole. Purists will also appreciate the true-to-form big Air bubble, and a faux-aged midsole highlights the silhouette’s long history.

No release deets have been confirmed yet, but everything about this Air Max 1 ’87 suggests it’ll be a part of this year’s Air Max Day lineup. Retail is set at $180, which is appropriate for all the rich materials involved. Download the DROPS by SoleSavy app to stay informed on this drop and more.
