Nike Air Max 1 Powerwall “Limeade” Releases September 19th
A fan favorite from Nike’s 2006 Powerwall collection is being retro’d later this month in the form of the Air Max 1 “Limeade”. Releasing September 19th, the classic silhouette will be treated with some 1970s inspired typography and playful color blocking.
As its name suggests, the AM 1 Powerwall “Limeade” uses the summer favorite beverage as its main inspiration, using Lime Green for its dyed leather mudguards and heel and for the mesh toebox. A matching polyester tongue and ankle collar add an extra sheen to the already vibrant shoe. The most striking visual component of the shoe though has to be its leather paneling with “Air” typography scrawled all across it in a typeface akin to 70s movie’s posters. On the tongue tag, you’ll find a graphic of a cut lime with Nike’s logo and Swoosh embroidered atop. The sockliner features a collage of whole and cut lime slices across a pale yellow backdrop as a final nod to its namesake drink.
