Sustainable Meets Fast on Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% Natural

Nike Running continues to add to its already-prestigious NEXT% series. The Swoosh has announced its sustainable-centered Alphafly NEXT% Natural as the brand elevates its performance ceiling while meeting its zero carbon and zero waste goals.

“We don’t want to be about making shiny objects — we wanted to set our concept car as the intent for how we think about performance and sustainability,” said Rachel Bull, Senior Footwear Product Director for Nike Running. “Putting a sustainable focus on our fastest marathon shoe also means we need all hands on deck for it to work, from our teams in design to material sourcing to manufacturing.”

The NEXT% line, which contains the Vaporfly and the Alphafly, will now harness Nike’s ethos of repurposing unused materials. Leftover ZoomX foam, the use of hybrid Flyknit and Flyprint upper, and even materials from leftover Zoom Air Pods will align on the upcoming Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% Natural. The all-new silhouette comprises 50 percent total recycled content by weight, the brand’s boldest integration of sustainability yet.

A release date for the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% Natural has yet to be announced. However, we expect the pair to land on Nike.com and select retailers in the upcoming weeks. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
