Nike Files Trademark Applications For “Use in Online Virtual Worlds”

Nike continues to have its eyes set on the future. As reported by Josh Gerben, Nike has applied for three trademark applications at the end of October. Its “NIKE” and “JUST DO IT” lettering and its iconic Swoosh logo were individually filed on the company’s behalf, with aspirations of digital apparel in the future.

According to the files, Nike is preparing to launch its brand into the web in a whole new way as the trademark rights hope to provide “online, non-downloadable virtual footwear, clothing, headwear, eyewear, bags, sports bags, backpacks, sports equipment, art, toys, and accessories for use in virtual environments.”

There’s no indication as to what exactly Nike has in-store with these trademarks, but its CryptoKicks trademark, the rise of NFTs, and the Metaverse all point to new horizons for the brand.

Stay tuned to SoleSavy as we await to see how the trademark applications develop in the upcoming months.
