Nike Prioritizing Employee Mental Health by Closing Global Offices This Week

Nike, Inc. is closing its global offices this week as the sportswear brand emphasizes its employees’ health. All global employees have the option to take time off this week in advance of a planned to return to the office in September, reports Footwear News’ Shoshy Ciment.

In May, the Swoosh announced that the Beaverton offices would operate under a flexible 3-2 work schedule, which allows up to two days of remote work. The closed offices this week serve as an important break before the company’s planned return to campus.

Despite the rise of the Delta variant, footwear brands are opening their doors to their employees in some form or fashion. Weeks ago, Under Armour announced that it would require its employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if they wanted to return to the office.

Stay tuned to SoleSavy as we continue to follow how the brands return to the workplace in the upcoming months.
