The Nike Zoom Freak 5 Is Departing From the Backwards Swoosh

Nike Zoom Freak 5

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s signature sneaker line appears to be set for a significant departure.

An early, early image has leaked for the Nike Zoom Freak 5, and the immediate standout is the lack of backward Swoosh on the shoe’s lateral side. The flipped mark has been a signature to the Zoom Freak for all but the second iteration. In its place is an absolutely massive Swoosh facing forward and swooping up from the midsole all the way up over the eyelets.

The Zoom Freak 5 is overall much simpler than its predecessors, although more detailing could arrive with the launch model. Gone is the visible Zoom Air unit from the Zoom Freak 4, and the upper has just three distinct panels. Leather weaves from the toe box to the eyelets, around the collar, and to heel as one single unit. Below it is a smaller heel panel in what could be suede, while the rest of the upper utilizes a more form-fitting material.

Official details from Nike should arrive by late summer, so download the DROPS by SoleSavy app to keep up with any updates.
