PJ Tucker is releasing his own Converse Pro Leather High this month. Inspired by the NBA Champion and sneaker king’s journey from Raleigh, North Carolina to the biggest stage in the game, the PJ Tucker x Converse Pro Leather High “Out Tha Mud” is a testament to Tucker’s game on and off the court.
The collaborative Pro Leather High is built with premium materials as the shoe includes a white leather base with hairy suede overlays and Converse logo on the sides. “OTM” is debossed in metallic gold and stands for “Out Tha Mud,” referencing when Tucker was putting shots up in his backyard and got mud stains on his only pair of sneakers for the year.
Other storytelling details are featured throughout. Tucker, a North Carolina native, had dreams of playing at UNC, represented with a UNC blue hit on the left tongue tag. A burnt orange right tongue tag nods his University of Texas days, where he would be crowned as Big XII Player of the Year. The pair includes an aged sole, inspired by the mud stains on his sneakers growing up, bringing the colorway together.
The PJ Tucker x Converse Pro Leather High “Out Tha Mud” releases on January 22 at a Miami pop-up, followed by an online release on January 23 on The Better Generation app (17 autographed pairs will be shipped at random) and on January 28 at Converse.com and Foot Locker. The shoe retails for $95. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
