(UPDATE) The 2001 Air Jordan 1 co.JP ‘Neutral Grey’ Delayed To July

With last week’s news of the once Japan exclusive Air Jordan 1 ‘Midnight Navy’, longtime fans of the silhouette were given a trip down memory lane while new sneakerheads got a glimpse into the brand’s storied history. The Japan-exclusive ‘2001 Addition’ pack first got off the ground with the now legendary AJ 1 ‘Neutral Grey’, rumored to be returning this July.

Once limited to only 2,001 pairs, the AJ 1 ‘Neutral Grey’ actually has a very misleading name. While the medial and lateral side panels feature the titular grey shade, the most eye-catching element is the regal Metallic Silver which adorns the heel, toebox, collar, and Swoosh. The gold-stamped Jordan Wings logo is now also redone in Metallic Silver. A Co.JP logo printed across the insole and “2001 2020” behind the tongue helps keep the memory of the early 2000s sneaker culture alive.

With two of the four original Japan Pack Jordans teased so far, we will be on the lookout for whether or not the Japan Black and Japan White pairs get Retro’d as well.

UPDATE – May 3rd, 2020: New images of the 2001 Air Jordan 1 co.JP ‘Neutral Grey’ have arrived as well as an updated release date of July 25th, 2020.
