Family is everything for Kyrie Irving and Sneaker Room’s Suraj Kaufman.
Both Kyrie and Suraj unfortunately lost their mothers too soon. Through their collaborations dating back to the Kyrie 3, the Sneaker Room x Nike Kyrie partnership brings their spirits to life by honoring and celebrating them in a new way.
SoleSavy Director of Video Tony Mui sat down with Sneaker Room owner Suraj to talk about the inspiration of the Kyrie 7 and the history of the collabs.
In years past, the theme of love was woven into the silhouettes using roses, red, gold, black, and white. This time, Suraj and the team wanted to switch things up and tap into Kyrie’s Native American roots, using Mother Nature as inspiration.
The Sneaker Room x Nike Kyrie 7 “MOM” is split up into two pairs: Land (green) and Air (yellow) & Water (blue) and Fire (orange). 1,996 pairs of the Land & Air colorway were produced, the year Kyrie’s mother passed away, and 525 pairs of the Water & Fire colorway were produced, symbolic of Suraj’s mother, who passed on May 25 (05/25).
Both pairs include various details such as hearts, Suraj’s signature, drawings of the elements, and more as Sneaker Room and Nike continue to impress with their longstanding partnership. Be sure to watch the video above for a full breakdown of the collection.
A release date for the Sneaker Room x Nike Kyrie 7 “MOM” collection hasn’t been officially announced. However, Suraj mentioned that the pairs will release sometime next week on SneakerRoom.com. The 1,996 pairs will retail for $175, and the 525 pairs will retail for $250. All proceeds of the collab go towards charity. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
