SoleSavy Member Playbook

Just joined SoleSavy? Thinking of joining? Excellent decision. We’re happy to welcome you to our community. We want you to make the most of your time and membership. So, let us quarterback this thing for you and give you the playbook you need to maximize your membership. We’re gonna break it down in a few easy plays so we can get you off to the races.

Before we start calling plays, let us preach the importance of patience. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Michael Jordan didn’t become the GOAT after his first shot, nor did Tom Brady after his first throw. Because of how much the industry has changed, how we get sneakers has too.  It will take some time to get up to speed with the proper tools and knowledge, and our first couple of attempts at retail releases might not be easy, but rest assured it gets easier with repetition. It’ll become second nature in no time. If this sounds like a lot of work just to get sneakers, that’s because it is and every day there are new roadblocks keeping real consumers from buying coveted kicks. But if you love sneakers like we do, that’s not going to stop you.

Getting To Know Our Community 

Once you’re approved for a SoleSavy membership, you’ll be placed into a community cohort with hundreds of other sneakerheads. Your Community Leader (CL) will reach out to you from jump to introduce themselves and check in on upcoming releases that you have your eye on. Get to know and lean on your CL, they’ll be your main touchpoint during your time with us.

What’s a Community Leader? Community Leaders are full-time SoleSavy staff whose mission is to maximize your SoleSavy experience—from sharing release information, helping you cop sneakers,  and ensuring a fun sneaker environment.

Your first play is simple: explore the community. Get familiar with the interface and all of the channels. Leveling that learning curve will go a long way toward increasing your success as a member. Head to the #Introductions channel and introduce yourself. You’ll surely receive a warm welcome and it’s a quick way to become familiar with some of the people in your community. This is a great time to share information like your favorite sneakers, shoe size, where you’re from, and hobbies outside of sneakers. We also have specific channels for some of your hobbies like #streetwear, #WDYWT, #NFTs, and different sports. Looking for a specific channel?  Reach out to your CL to see if we can get it started. We’re always open to ideas on how to improve your experience with us.

We want to help you get the sneakers you want and grow your collection, but more than that, we’re about community. We’re extremely proud of the great people that make up SoleSavy. The goodwill and camaraderie amongst members are rare during a time when the internet can be an unfriendly place. To make the most of your time with us we highly encourage you to be active within your community. There’s a common phrase that members give when talking about SoleSavy: “Came for the sneakers, stayed for the community.” That’s a testament to what we’re building together.

The next play is getting set up with our tech. Everything we build is done by collaborating closely with our community, ultimately making things better for our community. Our product offerings are no different. Both were developed with the goal of making the sneaker purchasing experience better, easier, and seamless.

Download Assist, our Google Chrome Extension

Our latest offering, Assist is our Google Chrome Extension which significantly improves the speed of the checkout process when purchasing online. With one click from our add-to-cart links, Assist will pre-fill your shipping and payment details and auto-click you through to the final payment screen. To get started:

Boom! After a few easy steps, you’re off to the races. The combination of Drop Alerts and Assist will give you an immense edge at sneaker shopping. 

Release Day Checklist

Let’s talk about release day. The biggest thing we can stress here is time management. As a new member, we recommend you give yourself 30 minutes to prep ahead of release time. This will give you ample time to set up and ensure you’re not rushing against the clock. Once you’ve got a hang of releases and our tools you won’t need a full 30min. We’ll do the heavy lifting from an information and strategy standpoint. All of which you can find within your community. Here’s a checklist for releases:

Seriously, don’t stress. Sneakers should be fun. No one wants to miss out on a sneaker they really want, but don’t panic if you don’t cop. You’ve got options. Drop Alerts will ensure you’ll never miss out on shock drops and restocks. With the inventory issues that companies are having due to the pandemic, Drop Alerts are often your best way to cop. The community is also here for you. Check #sell-for-retail-or-less or #tradesonly and see if any members are parting with the pair you’re looking for. If not, hit #looking-for and let the community know what you’re in search of (not a bad idea to do this before the release as well, members will often be able to try on your behalf at release time). Small tip, anytime you’re doing member-to-member transactions, use PayPal Invoice. They have protections for both the seller and buyer which ensure that no one will be taken advantage of.

Support Team

We’re here for you (we can’t stress this enough) every step of the way, so lean on the SoleSavy team. If you have any questions or ever feel discouraged, reach out to your CL or throw a post in #support (if you have a question it’s highly likely that other members will as well). We’ll troubleshoot with you to reverse course to help you succeed. We can get you a session with our onboarding group or we can get you a 1:1 with your CL. There you’ll get some hands-on training, be able to ask questions, and explain any snags you’ve encountered when trying to acquire sneakers (screenshot them so we can best assist you).

In addition to our staff, we have a full education center. Everything you need to get started, prep for releases, and even have video tutorials. Which will walk you through step-by-step on how to make the most of our tools and info. When we say we got you, we mean it.
