Some Thoughts on Jordan 1 High Releases

All eyes are on this weeks AJ1 Hyper Royal drop and I want to dump some thoughts on you all:

There’s a few variables at play here, one is the dynamic of releases right now: everythings a fuckin mess. I expect the same type of delays for the 1s this weekend as the 5s last weekend. It’s annoying and it sucks but there’s nothing we can do about it. The sooner we deal with this as the reality and expectation, the better off we are lol

The other is production. Stock levels for 1s have not really changed very much the past 2-3 years. Jordan Brand has very clearly (to me) opted to keep AJ1 High’s at the top of the pedestal to maintain hype. They learned a very valuable and tough lesson in 2016 where almost everything was 30%-40% off. They have left the stock the same but introduced the Mid and Low to appease some of that demand.

That leaves us with where we’re at heading into this week. Demand for AJ1 Highs is through the roof, stock has not changed and now because of that resell on highs is more than ever before and to top it off everyones a fuckin reseller.

An ideal drop right now is something like Notre’s Dunk release where stock is focused in one location with bot protection or something like the Bacon/Clot Air Max drops where stock is high but demand is more medium-high than high. There needs to be a nice balance. We are not getting an ideal drop this weekend. It’s going to be medium stock and high demand and high levels of fuckery.

Anyways this is my long winded way of saying this Saturday’s drop is going to be really hard for everyone. Thats goes for botters, resellers, manual users etc. I have no one to blame for this but the brand that does it to maintain the hype. So go into this weekends drop with the right mindset because the only thing worse than an L is the tole you can put on your mental health.

Will follow up next with some prep for this week
