A new collection from Nike in partnership with Footlocker dubbed the “P(HER)SPECTIVE Collection” will be debuting later this June and will primarily focus on representing women’s perspectives on art, design, and culture through footwear. The full collection will be unveiled in the near future and will be spearheaded by a new Air Jordan 1 Mid colorway previewed by SneakerNews.
The AJ 1 Mid P(HER)SPECTIVE is inspired by the hues of the earth’s atmosphere. Ankle collars, side paneling, and the toebox are done in a pastel pink suede reminiscent of a cloudy sky’s sunset, while a silver swoosh brings to mind space-age equipment and telescopes used for analyzing such phenomena. The most visually striking elements, however, are the multilayered and colored suede panels used on the shoe’s heel, mudguard, lace stays, and ankle collar. These overlays feature a wave pattern with each slice done in a complementary shade of pastel pink, blues, and greens. Certain portions of these overlays are done through textured cutouts. Matching pink laces and tongues and a frosted blue outsole complete the look.
