As you may note from the list, there has not been a better recent time to experiment with colorways and brands. Without further ado, let’s get into some of our favorites for Spring and Summer 2024 for the month of April. It’s our Spring Selects!

Read this slowly—2024 is the year of Adidas basketball. Yup, that’s right. The AE1 is at the forefront of this sort of casually wearing performance basketball sneakers again era. This colorway is perfect for the summer and reminiscent of other classic red sneakers of the past.

Nike Dunk Low ‘Masters’- BUY NOW

Look, even if you aren’t a fan of hitting the green, there is no denying how good this colorway is for the summer. Sizes are starting to sell out on Nike, so hop on that golf cart and move fast.

New Balance 990v4 “Macadamia Nut” – BUY NOW

Teddy Santis is at it again. Since being appointed as the Creative Director of New Balance My USA, they have been rolling out hit after hit. This latest round is no exception. New Balance has been on an incredible run in the last three or so years- and if you aren’t on the bandwagon yet, this pair is a great entry point.

Nike Vomero 5 “Platinum Tint” –  BUY NOW

Nike’s most popular casual sneaker right now has to be the Vomero 5. If you haven’t given these a spin, you are LONG overdue. This Platinum Tint colorway is a perfect start, though there are more colorways available.

Saucony Pro Grid Omni 9 – BUY NOW

The Omni 9 made a splash last year with the success of the Crystal Cave colorway. This spring, Saucony is following up with the shoe, which is essentially a sequel to the aforementioned shoe. This colorway sold out almost instantly on Saucony and has since begun showing up at boutiques. It’s a comfortable sneaker for those ready to try a new brand that’s maybe slightly out of their comfort zone.

Nike Air Pegasus 2k5 “Coconut Milk” – BUY NOW

This year, Nike will be pushing the 2k5 hard. The swoosh has showcased several colorways, but the Coconut Milk pair is among the best. If you want a shoe that is similar to the Vomero but want to try something different, consider the 2k5.

Adidas SL 72  “Better Scarlet”- BUY NOW

Going back to adidas, the SL 72 is where it’s at. Of course, the Gazelle and Samba are at the top currently. But if you would like something different that fits that same aesthetic and is, frankly, more comfortable, the SL 72 is your answer. The Wales Bonner collaboration got the ball rolling for this sneaker last year. It does not seem like Adidas will stop rolling out colorways any time soon, so keep your eye on this model.

Woodwood x Asics GT-2160- BUY NOW

Asics has undoubtedly had some of the best “under-the-radar” collaborations of the last couple of years. This particular one with Woodwood is another one to add to the list. The colorway is perfect for summer, and the shoe is one of the most comfortable ones actively in the casual sneaker space. In a time where collaborations dominate the market, it’s a little refreshing to see this pair still widely available for anyone to give a try.

Nike Spiridon 2 “Light Sandstone” – BUY NOW

Going back to the Nike retro runner, the Spiridon 2 is making a flashy return with this pair. First brought back to the forefront by Stussy in 2020, the pair looks to make a bigger splash four years later.

Asics Gel-NYC “Clay Grey” – BUY NOW

By now, most sneakerheads are familiar with the Asics Kayano 14 or the Gel-1130. That said, the GEL-NYC often gets forgotten. This particular colorway features a nice pop of color that helps it pop out and is perfect for the summer months.

Adidas Predator Mundial OG- BUY NOW

I cannot in good conscious let you all leave without another Samba alternative, Adidas went into the vault and created a casual version of one of their most iconic football boots (soccer cleats for my fellow yanks) of all time. It is an iconic piece of sportswear history now in sneaker form. Its low price point provides a great barrier of entry to a great sneaker, with super trendy vibes.

NIKE ACG Mountain Fly Low – BUY NOW

I didn’t forget about you, hobbyist friend. For the hike-curious, there is no going wrong with the Mountain Fly Low. Much like ACG itself, the sneaker has become synonymous with the trails. Lucky for us, the Mountain Fly also translates really well for casual wear- making it a versatile sneaker.

Air Jordan 9 G NRG GOLF- BUY NOW

Finally, I don’t think our BGA community would let me get away without mentioning these. Jordan’s efforts in the world of Golf are not at all new. That said, this woodgrain, like Air Jordan 9, is a head-turner.
