As seen on the last issue of Unboxed
In the previous Unboxed issue, we covered Nike’s plans to stop customizers from profiting off of the Swoosh’s image and likeness as the brand is cracking down on the custom sneaker game. While the custom sneaker niche isn’t tied down to any particular shoe, the Air Force 1 seems to have the largest pull due to its accessibility and relatively inexpensive price point which allows customizers to showcase their craft. Within the lawsuit that was filed, the brand revealed that the Air Force 1 is making bank for the brand by stating that the shoe “has maintained sales in excess of 800 million dollars per year.”
The Uptown continues to be a focal point in streetwear and sneaker culture, especially with its rising demand as we’ve seen AF1s become tough to get. Despite the growing popularity of the shoe, our monitors and release day preparation will always have you ready.
